The Bovilla Lake Viewpoint Walk
The famous view of Bovilla Lake is from Ballkoni i Bovillës, a viewpoint on the slope of Mount Gamti. From the car park it is a 15 to 20 minute walk, and you do not need to climb to the top of the mountain to see it.

The viewpoint is on the slope of Mount Gamti. Our tour does not climb to the top.

We stop at the restaurant by the lake (food and drinks are not included).
Where the viewpoint is
Bovilla Lake lies in the mountains northeast of Tirana, in Dajti Mountain National Park. The viewpoint sits high on the side of Mount Gamti, above the turquoise water and the cliffs around it. From there you look straight down on the lake and the mountains on every side.
The viewpoint walk or the Gamti summit hike?
Many Bovilla tours are hiking trips of several hours up to the top of Mount Gamti. Our tour is different: we drive you in a private 4x4 up the rough mountain road to the car park, and you walk only the short path to the viewpoint. It suits you if you want the view without a long hike.
Getting to the car park
The last part of the road is unpaved, with stones and potholes, so a 4x4 is the best car for it. After heavy rain or snow the road can be muddy or closed for a while, so we check the conditions before every trip.

The viewpoint walk: common questions
How long is the walk to the Bovilla viewpoint?
15 to 20 minutes from the car park, at an easy pace. About half of the way is steep stairs.
Do I have to climb Mount Gamti?
No. The viewpoint is on the slope of Mount Gamti, not at the top. Our tour includes only the walk to the viewpoint, not the summit hike.
Is the walk to the viewpoint hard?
It is short but steep in places. If you can climb stairs for 15 to 20 minutes at your own pace, you can do it.
